Seriously Purple ~ OPI Outrageous Neons~ Fiasco

Hi,
I was so excited to hear that OPI was going to put out neon lacquers that I could hardly wait to get them even though they are minis. I never buy minis because it seems that you use them once and they are gone. Plus this set was $19.99. Well, I have had these a couple of weeks and I did apply Seriously Purple right away but I haven’t shared it until now. I was debating on whether or not to share it because I had a really bad experience with it.
See What Happened:
3 coats

3 coats

3 coats

5 coats

5 coats

5 coats
The directions say apply one coat of the white base, 2 coats of the neon lacquer, and 1 coat of top coat. Well, that is what I did and it was so streaky that I added a 3rd coat of neon and then top coat. It looked terrible so I took it off and re-polished and by the 3rd coat it was the same as before so I kept adding until I had 5 coats not including top coat and it was still bad, it doesn't even look neon! Sorry about the clean up on my nails but I didn’t want to waste my time when I knew it was coming right off. I have not tried any of the other colors because I am so disappointed with the purple. What do you think about this? Has this happened to you before?

    1. I had to let the polish lover know especially because it is spendy for minis.

  3. I think it might be because the brushes are so darn small. All the minis I've purchased end up streaky. If it was the prowide brush, chances are it might have applied smooth. The price of the mini sets are a rip off on top of it.

    1. It is hard to apply with that little brush but it was ok spreading it on. You are right though. My bottle has like 1/4 left. I agree minis are a rip off! I never buy them unless its $1.
