Black Knight ~ Butter London

Hi!
I was so excited when I saw Butter London’s Black Knight I just had to have it. It is a black base with black, pink, blue, and silver glitter in it.
Take A Look:

I am wearing 3 coats and 1 coat of top coat. The formula was alright, it was a little thick. Although I like this lacquer I am a little disappointed. I thought it would have a lot more shimmer and shine from all the glitter that is in it. Another thing I didn’t like was that it chipped the first day. It happens a lot when I wear this brand. Is it my base coat? Do you have any tips you can share?

  1. It's a hit or miss with The Black Knight. I thought it was nice, but the formula is not so great. I agree that the glitters/shimmer get a little lost in the black jelly. I saw that someone mentioned layering it over black. Not really sure about how to make it last longer. Butter Londons wear pretty good on me so I'm no help lol. Hope it works out for you next time you wear it!

    1. Thanks for the info! I always have a problem with Butter Londons chipping on me. I wonder if its me? I use OPI base coat, maybe I should try Orly's bonder?

  5. Very pretty! It could be a different base and top coat would get along better with BL and your body chemistry. I have good luck with Instant Artificials and a SH topcoat but these things are so individual it's hard to know.

  7. I just picked this up yesterday for free! Well, I bought 2 others and the salesgirl told me they were buy two get 1 free, so I ran back and this one grabbed my eye. I don't like to hear that you got chipping right away and I am expecting more especially when it's $14 a bottle! But I think that might be just glitter polish for you. A lot of glitters chip easily I think because the polish layers are too thick, who can paint a thin glitter layer? not me. I have never used Butter London yet, but I HAD to have the other 2 colors and so I dusted off my wallet and picked them up and never looked back. I haven't the opportunity to use them yet. I loved this color though!

  8. Hi, Like you this one caught my eye too. I have about 6 bottles of Butter London and found that all of them chipped easily on me! I have talked to several people about this and found that none of them had chipping problems. I think it is just me and my body chemistry. I have 3 more new ones to try and I think I will try a new base coat and see if that works better. I am sure it will look great on you and you wont have this problem! Please let me know how it works out nd maybe what base coat you used :o)
